ACCELERATING CYBER SECURITY FOR A SAFER AFRICA

Recent report estimated the loss to African businesses from cyber crime at US$3.5bn, up from US$2bn the previous year. Nigeria was the hardest hit with losses of US$649m, followed by Kenya with US$210m, South Africa $157m and Tanzania with US$99m annually to cyber-attacks. As organizations continue to digitally transform, so does their exposure to threats within cyberspace. Organizations need to leverage ever-improving capabilities with advanced technologies to efficiently combat cybercrime.

Recently, cyber-attacks have increased along with the rapid worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cybercriminals have been exploiting public fear of rising coronavirus cases through malware and phishing emails in the disguise of content sent from reliable sources. Attackers also have the opportunity to take advantage of the transition to working remotely.

This ‘virtual conference’ will include keynote presentations, panel discussions, an interactive exhibition, virtual meet-the-speaker breakout sessions, networking areas and more.
